Mari Bras Confirms FBI Raids

San Juan, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) Pro independence leader Juan Mari
Bras denounced raids, arrests and surveillance of Puerto Rican
freedom fighters by the US Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Mari Bras confirmed the arrest of William Moler and wife Marina in
Limon, Mayaguez, in relation to the murder of Filiberto Ojeda Rios,
leader of the Boricua Popular Army (EPB-Macheteros).

The FBI surrounded the farm house of another freedom fighter in
Mayaguez, not that of Jose Rodriguez, a.k.a. "Don Yeyo".

Ojeda Rios, 80, was general secretary of the Puerto Rican Socialist
Party and lives now on the west coast.

Mari Bras says those actions are related to the Sep 23, 2005 murder
of Ojeda Rios by FBI agents at a farm house in Hormigueros, near Mayaguez.

Since then, Puerto Rican progressive forces have denounced non stop
FBI harassment either through direct home visits or to nearby areas
or by probes against them.

Dr. Hector Pesquera, co-President of the Hostosianos National
Independence Movement (MINH), said FBI actions target the local
freedom movement for denouncing Ojeda Rios" brutal assassination.

Radio Isla station said FBI Chief in Puerto Rico Luis Fraticelli
refused to talk on the operation, a common attitude with respect to
such FBI operations that also exclude the local Police.
