Greetings Community, Friends, and Comrades,

An online version of the "Hurricane Katrina Demand
Statement" has been created. It can be viewed and
signed at the following website:
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Katrina

Please spread the word far and wide ASAP! We are
attempting to gather 500,000 signatures by Friday,
October 14th. This task can and must be done to put
pressure on George Bush, FEMA, and the US Government
for their human rights abuses in the wake of the
disaster that was Hurricane Katrina.

If your organization would like to officially endorse
this statement and take up these demands please
contact Malcolm X Grassroots Movement National
Organizer, Kali Akuno at kaliaw at sbcglobal.net.

Some key endorsers include: Viet Unity, SF Bayview
Newspaper, Eastside Arts Alliance, Black Dot Artists
Collective, Just Cause Oakland, Youth Educational
Independent Opportunity Unlimited, Imoja Collective,
Anti-Genocide and Deprivation Collective, Collision
Course Video, Boots Riley of the Coup, M1 of dead
prez, and hip hop group Smif and Wesson.

We are aiming to have the United Nations take up this
issue in the General Assembly and Human Rights
Commission. Our targets are the George Bush, the US
Congress, FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security,
and the Governor of Louisiana. Let's make George Bush
and the US government accountable for their racist
mistreatment of New Afrikan and other oppressed
peoples in the Gulf Coast states affected by Hurricane
Katrina.

In Unity and Struggle,
Kali
