Join us in celebrating the

3rd Anniversary of Robert King Day

in The City of San Francisco,

this coming Friday, April 22nd, 2005 from 4 to 6 PM

at The Luggage Store Gallery, 1007 Market Street.

The recently released trailer for the documentary film on the Angola 3 will 
be screened.

Robert King spent over 28 years in solitary confinement at Angola-Louisiana 
State Penitentiary, confined to a 6 by 8 foot cell for a minimum of 23 
hours, everyday. He survived against these odds and was released on 
February 8th, 2001. He was given a financial package with which to cope 
with life on the outside, on the form of a check for ten US Dollars.

Since his release he has traveled throughout the United States and in eight 
different countries spreading the word about the continued incarceration of 
his two comrades, Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace, who jointly with him 
are know as the Angola 3. (<http://www.angola3.org/>www.angola3.org) They 
remain to this day in solitary confinement, their 33nd year.

Last month Robert had to move from his place of residence in New Orleans, 
because the house was sold. He has been able to relocate, but needs help 
with the moving expenses.

Robert King has been conducting workshops in "undoing racism" with the 
People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, as a resource trainer. From San 
Francisco he will be travelling to Seattle, Washington, where he will 
conduct a workshop at MCC-Monroe Correctional Complex, Washington State 
Penitentiary.
