[Freethe SF8] Gray Panthers: SF-8 Court hearing

[SF-8 case]

Subject: Gray Panthers: SF-8 Court hearing today - Thank you for coming!

About ten Gray Panthers came to the SF-8 hearing today, shouted 
loudly at a rousing picket line that stretched over half the width of 
the police building, and sat through at least the morning's hearing, 
where we were amazed that the state would have the nerve to prosecute 
a murder case against eight men in the absence of any evidence.  The 
people who came were a good mixture of old members, new members, and 
older members become active again. I was never so proud of being a 
Gray Panther.  Thank you to all who came or would have come if 
limitations or prior engagements had not prevented it.

One of the aspects of the SF-8 defense committee that's so great is 
their ability to combine the copeous notes of their court observers 
into reports that are complete and balanced between overview and 
detail, and distribute these reports so quickly after a 
hearing.  This is a report on today's hearing and its implications 
for the future.
