This morning, Herman Bell, one of the SF-8, appeared
in court in Monticello, New York to fight his extradition to
California. Herman has been a political prisoner for the past 34 years
and has been in the NYState prison system since 1979. He has appeared
before the NY parole board twice thus far, with over 150 letters of
support each time. Herman's attorney, Bob Boyle, had previously
submitted briefs opposing Herman's extradition. This morning we
expected to hear the judge's decision, however the
judge decided to take the matter under submission. The judge will
render his written decision and send it to Bob Boyle and the government
attorney. This could happen at any time. There were supporters in
the courtroom who then made the short trip to Sullivan C.F. to visit
with Herman today. We'll let you know more as we know it.
